How can I purchase tickets to Paramount Theatre events?
Tickets for Paramount Theatre events may be purchased in person, online or via the telephone.

In person ~ Orchestra Iowa partners with the Paramount Theatre providing ticketing services for events hosted at the Theatre. The Paramount Theatre ticket office is located next door at Orchestra Iowa, 119 Third Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ticket Office hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On an event day, the Ticket Office will open three hours prior to the first performance. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

During the summer, the Ticket Office hours change to Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and open only on the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Ticket Office will return to normal hours on September 1.

Online ~ The Paramount Theatre offers you the opportunity to print your tickets at home. Please click on and follow the Event links to purchase your tickets. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

Telephone ~ If you wish to purchase your tickets via telephone, please call 319-366-8203. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

Does my child require a ticket?
For most shows, children one year or younger will not need a ticket; however, this may vary by specific events. For specific event information, please see each performance description or contact the Ticket Office at 319-366-8203. Please note that due to fire/safety regulations child carriers are not allowed to be placed in the aisles or walkways.

When a show is postponed how long do I have to request my refund?
In the case of a show postponement, ticket-holders may request refunds at the original point of purchase. Refund requests must be received 14 days before the new show date. Written requests must be postmarked 14 days before the new show date.

When do doors open for an event?
For most events, patron seating begins approximately an hour before show time. For Broadway events, patron seating begins 30 minutes prior to show time.

Is videotaping allowed?
As a rule of thumb, ALL main-stage performances prohibit video and audio taping. Guidelines may vary for private events.

Can I bring my camera?
Depending on the event, still photography may not be allowed. The best advice is to check the event page on the website or give us a call the week of the event to obtain the specific event guidelines.

Assistive Listening Devices
The Paramount Theatre has assistive listening devices available at the Guest Services table located in the main lobby. You will be asked to leave a photo ID when you check out the device. This ID will be returned when the device is returned to the Guest Services attendant.

Where are the restrooms?
Restrooms are located on the main floor, second floor and lower lounge. Accessible restrooms are located on the main floor. Each restroom is equipped with a diaper changing station.

Can I bring in my own food and drink?
The Paramount Theatre does not allow outsides food or beverages into the venue. Concession stands are open for most public events. Beverage items include water and soda products. The service of alcoholic beverages is determined by Theatre management on a show by show basis.

May I take food and drink into the Theatre seating areas?
For most events you may take your food and drinks into the Theatre. Please watch for signs posted at the Concession Stands for specific events which prohibit food and beverage inside the Theatre seating areas. The Paramount Theatre and Opus Concert Café have several lounge areas where you may enjoy your food and drink while mingling with friends before events and during intermission.

What do I do if there is an emergency?
Medical ~ Find the nearest house manager or Theatre staff person. Tell them what the emergency is and where the affected patron is located. Provide the Paramount Theatre staff with as much information about the person as possible including name, age, medical condition and emergency contacts. Do not hesitate to call 911 if the emergency appears to be life-threatening.

Fire ~ When you arrive at your seats, please look around the Theatre and familiarize yourself with the nearest exit. In the case of a fire, calmly follow the instructions of the Paramount Theatre staff. Exit the building as quickly as possible and meet up with your party across the street from the venue.

Severe Weather ~ Calmly follow the instructions of the Paramount Theatre staff and take the stairs to the lower lobby of the Theatre. If you or members of your party are not able to utilize the stairs, please notify a Paramount Theatre staff member and they will assist you to a protected area.
